Sponsored and Organised by
    University of New South Wales
Sponsored (tentatively) by
    IEEE Computer Society, Technical Committee on Real-Time Systems
    IEEE Section Taipei Supported byNational ICT Australia Ltd.

Carry on with the tradition, the RTCSA conference series, will bring
together researchers and developers from academia and industry for
advancing the technology of embedded and real-time computing systems and
applications. This year RTCSA will hold a special Work-in-Progress
session which will be chaired by Xiang Liu, Peking University, PR China.

Scope of Conference

The 12th RTCSA will bring together researchers and developers from
academia and industry for advancing the technology of embedded and
real-time systems and ubiquitous computing applications. The conference
has the following goals:

    * to investigate advances in embedded and real-time systems and
ubiquitous computing applications;
    * to promote interaction among the areas of embedded computing,
real-time computing and ubiquitous computing;
    * to evaluate the maturity and directions of embedded and real-time
system and ubiquitous computing technology.

RTCSA 2006 seeks papers that describe original research in the area of
embedded and real-time systems and ubiquitous computing. This include,
but is not limited to:

    * embedded software
    * system on a chip
    * real-time / embedded operating systems
    * power-aware computing
    * hardware / software co-design
    * timing analysis
    * QOS supports in OS / middleware
    * ubiquitous/pervasive computing / information appliances
* design methodology and software architectures for embedded systems
    * system support for mobile computing
    * case studies / industrial experiences with building embedded
applications
    * government supported projects, open source projects
    * sensor networks

Submissions

Submitted papers should describe original on-going research; papers must
not exceed 6 pages in IEEE conference style. Papers should be submitted
electronically through our email to rtcsa06.wip [at] cse.unsw.edu.au in
a pdf or postscript format. The material must be unpublished and not
under submission elsewhere.

Important Dates
Deadline    13 May
Notification of Acceptance    28 May
Camera-ready Copy    2 July
Conference Dates    16-18 August

Call for Papers: MIKES 2006
First International Workshop on MicroKernels for Embedded Systems

    to be held on August 15 2006
    in Sydney, Australia
    co-located with the 12th IEEE RTCSA
    http://www.ertos.nicta.com.au/events/06/0815-mikes.pml
    ***********************
    * Submission Deadline *
    * May 20th 2006       *
    ***********************
    Please note, the deadline for submission has changed.

Microkernels and microkernel-based operating systems are experiencing an
increased popularity in the field of embedded systems. Despite a period
of low popularity a decade ago, there is a new realisation, in academia
and industry, of the usefulness of microkernels. This is especially true
in the embedded systems domain where the reduced size and increased
dependability of microkernel-based systems have made them particularly
attractive. The MIKES workshop will bring together researchers and
developers from industry and academia to discuss

    * emerging novel concepts,
    * analysis approaches, and
    * case studies

in the area of microkernels.

MIKES 2006 seeks papers that describe original research in the area of
microkernels. This includes but is not limited to:

    * case studies
    * real-time behaviour
    * temporal analysis
    * formal/functional verification
    * portability
    * API proposals
    * security and safety

Papers describing new ideas, promising approaches, experiences with
practical systems are considered particularly appropriate. Papers will
be 6 pages in IEEE conference paper format.

Papers should be submitted electronically via email to mikes06.submit at
cse.unsw.edu.au in PDF or postscript format. The material must be
unpublished and not under submission elsewhere. Proceedings will be
published as a technical report by National ICT Australia (NICTA).

Important Dates

    Please note the submission deadline has been pushed back to
disentangle it from concurrent deadlines.

    Submissions deadlines: May 20th
    Notification of acceptance: June 12th
    Camera ready papers: July 7th
