--------------------------------------------------------------------
Theme: Software Engineering Innovation Everywhere
The fourteenth Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC)
will be held in Nagoya, Japan. APSEC is the leading international
conference in software engineering and technology in the Asia-Pacific
region. APSEC 2007 will bring together researchers and practitioners
from industry, academia, and government to share the state of the art
technology in software engineering and seek to explore emerging
challenges in software engineering innovation.
As the rapid pervading of embedded and ubiquitous software, our lives
are increasingly dependent on the software. Software engineering is
facing challenges of safety, dependability, sustainability, and other
various aspects in the development of such software or the provision
of services using the software. Over the next several years, all kinds
of embedded, personal, and enterprise application software will be
connected together with each other, and will cover the globe.
This is expected to bring about a sea change in software engineering.
Submissions topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the
following:
- Ubiquitous and Embedded Software
- Service-Oriented Architecture
- Software Architecture
- Requirements Engineering
- Domain Software Engineering
- Software Product-Line Engineering
- Component-Based Software Engineering
- Aspect-Oriented Software Technology
- Software Maintenance and Evolution
- Reverse Engineering
- Program Understanding
- Software Metrics and Measurement
- Empirical Software Engineering
- Software Project Management
- Software Process Improvement
- Quality Management
- Testing, Verification and Validation

Workshops:
APSEC 2007 also invites submissions of workshop proposals.
The workshops co-located with the conference should provide
an opportunity for exchanging views, advancing ideas, and discussing
preliminary results on software engineering research and applications.
Workshop proposals should be directly sent to Workshop chair,
Osamu Shigo (shigo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx), by e-mail in PDF format,
not exceed 3 pages, including one page preliminary call for papers,
their relevance to the conference, expected number of presenters and
participants, and a brief description of workshop organizers.
All the workshop participants are required to register the conference.

Paper Submissions:
APSEC 2007 will seek research papers and experience reports.
All papers and reports must be prepared in IEEE format
(http://www.computer.org/portal/pages/cscps/cps/cps_forms.html)
and must not exceed eight pages in length, including figures and
references. Submission of papers will be carried out electronically
via the Web in PDF or postscript format. Submitted research papers
will be reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical
quality, and relevance to conference. Submitted experience reports
will be evaluated impact, correctness, and lessons learned.
Accepted papers and reports will be published in the proceedings from
IEEE Computer Society and its Digital Library.

Venue:
Nagoya is geographically located around the center of main island
of Japan, and has been a cultural crossroads since ancient times.
Nagoya and its vicinities have always been a center of manufacturing
industry since feudal days, are also best known as an automobile
companies including Toyota and Mitsubishi. You can experience at the
Toyota Automobile Museum, Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and
Technology, and Toyota Kaikan Exhibition Hall. During APSEC 2007,
we plan to tour of Toyota factory and its technology exhibition hall.
Access:
The nearest airport is the Centrair International Airport serving
direct flights to more than 30 cities worldwide. Nagoya can be
reached in 30 minutes from the airport by train. It takes 1 hour
and 40 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen Nozomi, a super express.
