同イベントではAndroidプラットフォームを利用したシステム開発を競い合って、優勝チームには賞とACMトランザクションの招待論文の特典がついてきます。

Embedded Systems Week 2011 (http://www.esweek.org/) features a
competition based on Android platforms, in

The topics of the competition will be related to the following levels in
Android:
* Libraries,
* Application framework, and
* Android runtime.
Please note that Android applications without any modification or
development in Android platform will not be considered and will not be
selected to participate in the final round competition. The competition
will consist of two phases. In the first phase, each team is requested
to submit a proposal (up to 6 pages) to describe the basic ideas, system
design, system architecture, and project management. Based on the
proposal, (8 or more) teams will be selected to participate in the final
competition in Taipei on Oct. 12, along with ESWEEK. Each team in the
final round has to give a 25-minute presentation (including Q&A) in the
morning and provide demonstration in public to ESWEEK attendees in an
afternoon session. Selected teams will be awarded with prizes and be
invited to submit the contribution to a special issue of ESTIMedia'11 in
ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems (TECS).
*Eligibility and Restrictions*
* The competition is open only to universities and research
institutes in any country.
* The platform must be based on Android 2.2 (or higher) and be in
English.
* The work must be original. The participants are the sole and
exclusive owner and rights holder of the work and all included
content, that no third parties will make any challenges or claims
as to ownership or fraud, and that they have the right to submit
the work and grant all required licenses.
* Each team can have at most 6 students (including Ph.D. students
and postdocs) and at most 2 professors.
* A professor can supervise at most 2 teams.
* Please list the occupations of each member.
*Schedule*
* July 15th, 2011: Deadline of proposal in English (up to 6 pages)
* August 5th, 2011: Notification (Selected teams will be notified
for participating in the final round)
* October 10th, 2011: Demonstration and preparation session with the
reception of ESWEEK in the evening.
* October 12nd, 2011: Competition in Taipei along with ESWEEK. The
result will be announced on the same day.
*Scoring*
* Novelty: 30%
* Completeness: 20%
* Applicability: 20%
* Presentation and Demonstration: 30%
*Award*
* 1st Place: 50,000 NTD
* 2nd Place: 30,000 NTD
* 3rd Place: 15,000 NTD
Traveling support to Taipei for selected teams will be possible,
and details will be available soon.
