Contributions are requested for a special issue of
Real-Time Systems on the topic of multiprocessor real-time
systems.
Background
The last few years has seen a proliferation of multicore-based
products in the home computing and server markets. Now, the
same is happening in the embedded arena. Multicore platforms
offer greater computational capacity, with less space, cabling, and
power consumption, and thus have the potential of enabling a new
generation of sophisticated embedded devices. However, the shift
to multicore technologies has created new challenges from a
software design perspective due to the need to manage
parallelism. This special issue is directed at research that
addresses such challenges.
Scope
The scope of this special issue includes topics related to the
design and analysis of multiprocessor real-time systems. Such
topics include, but are not limited to:
- scheduling and schedulability analysis;
- synchronization;
- energy management;
- timing analysis;
- operating systems;
- middleware;
- programming languages;
- and application studies.
Important Dates
Submission deadline: September 1, 2011
Notification of accept/reject: March 2012
