We invite contributions that present advances in integrating the fields of embedded computing and ubiquitous systems. Industrial applications in the field are also encouraged. Papers can be of a conceptual, theoretical, application-oriented, standards-driving, innovative design or experimental nature, and should represent technological or scientific advances. SEUS 2013’s goal is to bring together researchers from all over the world, to foster a stimulating and fruitful exchange amongst researchers working on similar topics, to discuss ideas, exchange field experiences and to find solutions together to the problems facing software technologies for embedded and ubiquitous systems. TOPICS Suggested topics of interest include (but are not restricted to) the following: - Applications, Components, Services - Programming Languages, Models and Tools - Requirement Specification and Methodologies - Middleware and Operating Systems - Software Architectures and Software Engineering - Communication Networks - Wireless Sensor Networks and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks - Smart Phones, Smart TVs, and Smart Devices - Wearable Computing, Next Generation Computing - Cloud Computing - Social Computing - Computer Architecture - Embedded Systems - Programming Paradigm for Multicores and Manycores PAPER SUBMISSION Accepted papers will be published in IEEE proceedings. Papers must be written in English, submitted in PDF format with 8 pages in limit (including all text, figures, references and appendices), and adhering to the IEEE paper format. Submission implies the willingness of the senior author to present his/her paper at the Workshop. NOTE: Authors must upload their manuscripts to the SEUS 2013 submission site that can be reached by the SEUS 2013 homepage. Please do not email your submission to the PC Chairs or to any other address, to avoid your submission being lost. Questions about the appropriateness of a topic for a submission may be directed to the PC Chairs. JOURNAL PUBLICATION Selected best papers (about 30%) will be invited for a Special Issue of an SCI journal after further revisions and improvement. The journal name will be announced shortly in the near future.
